When to go to Disneyland Paris ?
Hi,
On this blog, I try to share some magical experience, but also to share a few tips so that you can enjoy the most magical journey. One of the most important point when you go to Disneyland, is to now when to book so to avoid bad weather or a parc to full.
Here are a few tips and a few information I selected after having been to Disneyland Paris too many times.
The weather
The french climate can be quite different than other climate (for example the equatorial climate in Singapore). When you are not used, you can easily be surprised.
So in France, most of you must know it (but it's always better to repeat) there are 4 seasons. In consequence, depending of what type of weather you want, you have to be careful.
- In autumn (mid-September to early December) it can be relatively cold and you have more chance to get wet as it rains a bit more. However, the rain and the wind combined makes it very cold. It rarely rains all day without stopping, but if you're wet in the morning, it's going to feel like a very long, very cold day. Fortunately, the park is pretty well equipped for cold and rain, with many passages inhabited and many places (inside and out) heated (all the more reason to go shopping).- In winter it's very cold, but rarely snows (we've only had snow once, and that was just a little). Again, many parts of the park are heated, but waiting for the parade or fireworks can quickly become a horrible experience. (A detail for people living in the tropics: in winter it gets light later and dark earlier).
- In spring, temperatures can vary, from quite warm to very cold, often on the same day. So it's best to have a heavy jacket, and don't forget to take an umbrella - you can never be too careful.
- Finally, in summer, it can get very hot during heatwaves, but France is not yet well equipped to deal with these intense heat waves (I've never been to Disney during a heatwave, but I strongly advise against it, having experienced it at home). But I also experienced very cold weather in summer (late June). And even if the risk is very low, take an umbrella, even if it stays in the hotel. Better prepared than wet.
So it's better to always have an umbrella, waterproof footwear and a good jacket (or to buy everything in the parc like we've done many times). For those who like to be in Disney wearing shorts, wrong Disney !
To have a parc half-empty
I don't really thinks it's possible, but there are certain periods to avoid.
The FRENCH HOLIDAYS are tho avoid absolutely ! You can check on several website or on the government website to know when they are. Just for information, in France, the school are divided in 3 zones (A,B,C) so be careful that your trip isn't during the break of one of the zone. Otherwise, the parc will be full ! And it's annoying...
You also have to avoid the SPANISCH HOLIDAYS. Even if we are in France, when the people in Spain are on holidays the parc is full. Like for the french holidays, you can visit several website to avoid planning a trip during the spanisch break.
Last advice
When booking a trip, the higher the price are, the more people there will be in the parc. So keep that in mind !
